Buying our First Home |

Since returning from Playa almost 3 weeks ago (seriously?), I’ve been playing the “Hurry up and wait” game. For someone with ~~little~~ no patience, this game hasn’t been so much fun. With all of the running all over Kansas City looking at homes, researching home prices and mortgages, learning about school districts and neighborhoods, and FINALLY choosing ONE, we are sitting here waiting.

I know, I know. Buying your first home is supposed to be one of the most exciting things a married couple can do, but it’s a lot of work… and a lot of being patient… Which is extremely difficult for a Type A personality, because WE (the empirical WE) want to be doing! Jade has already told me that I’m getting ahead of myself, but I can’t help it. It’s in my DNA to be the crazy lady with her paint cans, window coverings, and furniture in the front lawn before we even have the keys.

So instead of going out and purchasing all the items for all the fun ideas I have, I’ve been pinning! Although, Pinterest is keeping me inside our room instead of at Home Depot buying paint, it isn’t making me any less anxious to begin decorating.

I also have all these ideas, and I want to do them RIGHT NOW! The home is a really nice home, but we have a modest budget, so there are some things we want to do to make the home have our personality.

So now that the inspection came back, we are proceeding with the home, and all we have to do is WAIT.

Sigh…
